Review: Blade Runner 2049 (2017)

Blade Runner 2049 (2017) (90) One always worries when a timeless classic gets a sequel. Those worries are unfounded in Blade Runner 2049. It’s not as succinct as the original, but 2049 is visually mesmerizing and artfully performed. This new chapter not only matches the tone and style of 1982’s Blade Runner, but also enhances and expands upon the lore created in that film. Opinions are sure to be split over the content of the storytelling, but few will argue that the first film is diminished in any way by this expansion of the narrative.
